General Physical Properties
The construction sealant, reacting with the moisture existing in the air, tends to harden as a result of the hydrolysis effect between the base polymer Si-OH and Si-X and the condensation reaction. Water is essential in such a process as well as is in need of the Sn titanic catalyst. Thus, hardening process is affected by moisture and the deep part remaining not in contact with moisture tends to be retarded in hardening. It remains stable while remaining not in contact with moisture, but once it was exposed to moisture, the part of Si-X is replaced with Si-OH, resulting in condensation reaction.
In the wake of a gradual reaction, a crosslinking occurs, which leads to transforming into the elastic body.

1.Easy to handle
Use the product by simply squeezing the cartridge container. No mixer or equipment is needed. It hardens, reacting with moisture, at the room temperature without extra heating.

2.High adhesion
As it has a high degree of adhesion, it is highly adhesive to any material without applying the primer, but it may require cleaning or primer application, depending on surface condition.
3.Excellent heat and cold-resistance
Once completely hardened, it sustains the certain adhesion and elasticity within a temperature ranging from -30∑C ~ 200∑C even in case of being exposed continuously. A specially-designed product can be used for a certain short period even at the temperature of 250∑C.
4.Chemically stable
A silicon sealant is highly resistant to the chemicals and oil, compared to common organic rubber material. Even in case it was exposed to engine oil, it remains unresolved or dissolved, but restores to the original state when a catalyst is removed.
5.Excellent weather-resistance
Ultraviolet-resistant, ozone-resistant and waterproof, which enables to sustain its original properties even after the outdoor application.
Cautions
As silicon sealant tends to become a rubber elastic body as a result of reaction with the moisturein the air, a hardening condition shall be observed after application. A standard conditions refers to, in general, 25∑C with 65% humidity, which serves the base to all data produced. Keeping the product in cool and dry place, in principle, is recommended.
A silicon sealant creates the by-product (HX) in the process of hardening, which requires a careful attention. For instance, the products using acetoxysilan as a cross-linker is called as acetic acid sealant, which generates the acetic acid that is corrosive, while generating a stimulative odor.
